New Hope Leeward has always been part of a dynamic movement of God. In 1995, Pastor Wayne Cordeiro planted New Hope Oahu at Farrington High School, revolutionizing church with funny and relevant messages, upbeat worship, and engaging services that included skits and hula. The excitement spread rapidly as people eagerly shared about New Hope's unique approach.

With a heart to extend this impact to the Leeward side of Oahu, Pastor Wayne planted New Hope Leeward at the end of 2002, led by Mike Lwin. Over the next decade, God blessed and expanded our church, touching countless lives where Waipahu, Ewa Beach, and Kapolei intersect in the Waipahu Town Center.

In 2016, Pastor Josiah Nordgren assumed leadership as our Senior Pastor, ushering in a new season defined by the movement's original vision. We consolidated back to our Waipahu Town Center campus, expanded our facilities to accommodate our Christian School and ministries, and sharpened our focus on the vision the Lord had entrusted to us:

Love God - Devotions

Reflect His Light -  ‘Ohana Groups

Change The World - Serving both inside and outside our church walls

VISION

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)

We’ve simplified this verse into a simple vision statement:

We exist to love God, reflect His light, and change the world.

This is not only our vision, this is our process, our hope for every single member, from Keiki (children) to Kupuna (elders).

PROCESS

We Exist to Love God

Our online and in-person services create space for seekers and believers to deepen their love for God, sparking a spiritual hunger that extends into personal devotions throughout the week.

Reflect His Light

Our faith comes alive within Ohana Groups, where we 'process' what we are learning and put it into 'practice' together, being transformed to become more like Christ.

Change the World

We are the light of the world, the hands and feet of Jesus, actively serving both inside and outside the church walls so that others may come to love God.

OUR DENOMINATION

The Foursquare Church believes that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, Healer, and Soon-Coming King.

About our Church

What We Believe

ABOUT GOD

We believe that God is Triune:

Father, Son and Holy Spirit

(2 Corinthians 13:14).

ABOUT HUMANITY

The Fall of Man

We believe that man is created in the image of God but that by voluntary disobedience fell from perfection, thereby imputing sinfulness to all human beings (Romans 5:12).

About Salvation Through Grace

We believe that we receive salvation when we come to God through faith

in the atoning work of Jesus on the cross; salvation is God’s gift to us

(Ephesians 2:8).

About The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is God inspired (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).

The Gifts and Fruit of the Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit has gifts to bestow upon Christians (1 Cor. 12:1-11) and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life (Gal. 5:22-25).

Water Baptism and the Lords Supper

We believe that baptism by immersion in water is an outward sign of an inward work (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4). We believe in commemorating the Lord’s Supper by the symbolic use of bread and fruit of the vine (1 Cor. 11:24, 25).

Repentance and Acceptance

We believe that, upon sincere repentance and a wholehearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God (Rom. 10:8-10; 1 John 1:9).

Daily Christian Life

We believe that it is the will of God for believers to walk in progressive sanctification, growing continuously in the faith (Heb. 6:1).
